Last year, Lonely Scholar published my book The Dawn of Software Engineering: from Turing to Dijkstra. Some reviews were already online half a year ago. In the meantime, more coverage has become available:
- H.I. Kilov commented on the book in the Computing Reviews, 1 May 2013,
- A comment was made on goodreads, around March 2013,
- Brent Yorgey wrote a post on his blog, 13 January 2013,
- The 2012 course `Concepts of Programming Languages' relied on my book,
- And, last but not least, Martin Davis himself has commented on my book at the Turing 2012 Princeton Event.
Martin Davis's comments can be contrasted with the remarks I make in my follow-up article on Turing:
- E.G. Daylight. Towards a Historical Notion of ''Turing — the Father of Computer Science''. Currently under peer review for a special issue of the journal History and Philosophy of Logic. Paper available here.
See also my post on Mahoney which contains a discussion of Davis's presentation at the Turing 2012 Princeton Event.
